Escaped Prisoner
Captured

Thomas Cano, who escaped from police custody while at the hospital on the 14th of February, was recaptured overnight. A Dallas Police Department Deployment Unit observed Cano looking into cars in a parking lot in the 3200 block of Webb Chapel Extension in Dallas. Dallas Officers made contact with Cano and discovered he was wanted by the Lewisville Police and arrested him.

Lewisville Detectives have picked up Cano and brought him to the Lewisville Jail where he was arraigned for his previous and new charges:

Theft u/ $2500 w/ previous convictions $10,000
Duty upon Striking Fixture $10,000

On February 14, at about 5:30 p.m., Lewisville Police Department Inmate, Thomas Isaac Cano, a 27-year-old resident of Denton County, escaped from police custody. Cano was being treated at Medical Center Lewisville located in the 500 Block of W. Main Street, when Cano was able to walk out of the emergency room undetected. A canvass and search of the area yielded negative results. Cano was last seen wearing blue-jeans and a gray t-shirt. Cano is a Hispanic male, 5’6” tall and weighs about 145 lbs. Cano was wearing a pair of Lewisville Police Department handcuffs when he escaped. Cano is not considered dangerous, but the police department encourages anyone who may see Cano, not to approach Cano. Citizens are encouraged to call the local police department and report any suspicious activity or sightings.
