Big Bear - suspect arrested for attempted robbery

INCIDENT: Attempted Robbery
LOCATION: 40000 block of Big Bear Blvd.
SUSPECT(S): Jorge Luis Ocampo, age 20, a resident of Los Angeles
VICTIM(S): Nick's Automotive Center
SUMMARY: On February 26, 2016, at approximatley 02:55 pm., deputies from the Big Bear Station responded to the report of an attempt robbery 40000 bock of Big Bear Boulevard, Upon arrival deputies were advised that a male subject, later identified as Jorge Luis Ocampo, entered the business and showed an imitation firearm to the clerk working at the front counter and demanded money. Ocampo fled west on Big Bear Blvd. before receiving any money. A vehicle description and license plate were obtained before the vehicle fled. Deputies from the Big Bear Station responded to the incident location. Sheriff's Aviation and Twin Peaks Station also assisted in a search for the vehicle. The vehicle was located on Highway 18 near Arrowbear Drive in Running Springs by Twin Peaks Sheriff's Deputies. Ocampo was arrested and booked into Big Bear Jail for attempted robbery with a bail of $50,000.
