35-yr old man charged after shooting dog & setting it on fire
On February 25, 2016 at approximately 7:23 p.m., Greene County Sheriff's Deputies contacted a female who reported she had been involved in an argument with her boyfriend at their home located in the 5400 block of North Farm Road 159. The argument centered around the couple's dog.
According to the female, following the argument, her boyfriend who was identified as 35-year old NATHAN L. BUMGARDNER shot a black Labrador dog in the head before the dog ran out of the home. Bumgardner pursued the dog into the yard and continued to shoot several more times at it. The dog was killed and he disposed of the dog's body by placing it on top of a brush pile, setting it on fire.
Greene County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Bumgardner and he was transported to the Greene County Jail. The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged Bumgardner with:
2 - Felony counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon
1 - Felony count of Animal Abuse
(warrant #1631-CR01641, bond amount $15,000.00)
