Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests of Georgia and Florida Residents

Peru – Recently, a traffic stop by Indiana State Trooper Adam Moor and Probationary Trooper Abby Russell led to the arrests of Bianca Perteet, 27, Duluth, GA, Harry Erazo, 28, and Rony Jirardin, 23, both from North Miami, Florida. All three were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail to face numerous criminal charges.

The troopers initiated a traffic stop on a 2015 Dodge Durango on U.S. 31, near Miami County Road 300 South, for allegedly traveling 75 miles per hour in a posted 60 miles per hour zone.  While the troopers were speaking to the driver, Perteet, they smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the Durango, officers allegedly found cookies laced with marijuana, candy laced with marijuana, processed marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed multiple false identification cards and 28 debit cards, with different names on them, inside the Durango.

Perteet was arrested on two criminal charges for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Erazo and Jirardin were passengers in the Dodge. Erazo was arrested on criminal charges for 16 counts of fraud, four counts of identity deception, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jirardin was incarcerated on criminal charges for 8 counts of fraud, two counts of identity deception, possession of marijuana, trafficking with an inmate, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Troopers Moor and Russell were assisted during the traffic stop by officers the Miami County Sheriff’s Department, ISP Sergeant TJ Zeiser, and Trooper Steven Glass.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law
