Campbell Police Launch Free Mobile Application
The Campbell Police Department is pleased to announce the launch of their new free mobile application that gives the public unprecedented access to the police department. The app helps the Campbell community stay connected wherever they are by offering mobile access to news, crime maps, social media, alerts, and more. It even allows the public to submit tips and reports to the department. Anyone can download the application for free through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Marketplace.
“We want to offer our community the best in technology and access, and that means making the Campbell Police Department’s services and information available to mobile users,” said Police Chief David Carmichael.
The app was designed by MobilePD, a Silicon Valley–based start-up company that is developing mobile apps for several other police departments across the country. The easy-to-use interface will provide an unprecedented amount of information to the consumer, regardless of where they are in the world.
The mobile app gives access to the police department’s news feed, online crime maps, videos, photos, and social media. In addition, consumers will be able to submit crime tips and official reports from their mobile phone.

“We recognize that people are consuming information in new ways,” Chief David Carmichael said. “Law enforcement needs to make their information as transparent and readily-accessible as possible to meet the expectations of our communities.” Currently, there are only a handful of other agencies in the nation that have released official mobile applications for their community –
"I am very proud that our Police Department is using technology in creative ways to engage and connect with the public," Mayor Jason Baker said.
The Campbell Police mobile application is available today on the iOS App Store and the Google Play Marketplace by searching for “Campbell Police” on the respected App Store.
