Late Night Traffic Pursuit Lands English Man Behind Bars
Crawford County: A late night pursuit in Crawford County ended with an English resident in jail.
At 1:10 A.M. this morning, Trooper Justin Mears was on Interstate 64 near the 94.5 mile marker when he observed a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. Trooper Mears activated his radar, which indicated that the motorcycle was traveling at 115 miles per hour. Trooper Mears activated his emergency lights and attempted to pull over the motorcycle; however, the driver failed to yield and continued westbound.
The motorcycle exited I-64 at the 92 mile marker and continued traveling north on State Road 66, with speeds reaching 125 miles per hour. As the motorcycle neared Water Tower Road, it turned into a driveway at 4650 South State Road 66, English, and stopped. Trooper Mears immediately placed the driver into custody, without incident.
Upon further investigation, Trooper Mears found that the driver, 28 year old Dylan Allen of English, IN, had operated the motorcycle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Allen was transported to and lodged in the Crawford County Jail.
