Woodway PSD has received several calls regarding a scam in which a caller from a northeastern number, most likely a Connecticut number, is calling cell phones and claiming to be a security consultant. The caller informs the individual that their computer has been hacked and that they need to log on and enter a code provided by them. DO NOT do this. The caller may sound convincing and may even call you by your name and know other personal information. The caller is attempting to gain control over your computer. If you feel you have fallen victim to this scam please report it to the police.
