End of “ No Outdoor Watering” Restrictions for Crescenta Valley Water District Customers
End of “ No Outdoor Watering” Restrictions
for Crescenta Valley Water District Customers
Effective immediately, The District will end the “Red Alert” and return to “Orange Alert”. Outdoor watering for Crescenta Valley Water will return to two-days per week with irrigation allowed on Tuesday and Saturday.
Beginning March 4, 2016, CVWD began taking imported water from Foothill Municipal Water District (FMWD) despite that their imported water source, the Weymouth Treatment Plant, is still offline.
FMWD, the agency that pumps imported water up to La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta, normally gets its water from the La Verne treatment plant. However, it has been able to obtain water from a treatment plant in Granada Hills.
During the imported water shutdown, the District activated its emergency interconnection with the City of Glendale. Due to this investment, water supply remained stable throughout the shutdown period.
The District would like to thank customers for their cooperation during the temporary outdoor watering restriction and for their continued efforts to reduce water consumption during this historic drought and State mandated water reductions.
