Looking to purchase a home in Chula Vista?

Visit the free Chula Vista First-Time Homebuyer Fair at Chula Vista City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, on Saturday, March 5. The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is sponsored by the City of Chula Vista and Springboard Home Loans. Guests will learn about the new Down Payment Assistance Program offered by the City which provides families with up to $76,000 to use toward the down payment and closing costs for their first home. Potential homebuyers will have the opportunity to meet with a loan officer at the event to pre-qualify for the program and reserve their funds. Over $1 Million has been set aside for this program.

Opening remarks will be given by Chula Vista Mayor Mary Casillas Salas. Educational workshops will be held throughout the day providing information on preparing for homeownership, first-time homebuyer programs, Chula Vista neighborhoods, the local real estate market, and saving as a homeowner. Vendors will include realtors, title/escrow, homeowners insurance, and contractors. In addition, information will be available on rehabilitation programs, utility assistance programs, appliance rebates, and energy conservation ideas. Interactive booths and “How to Clinics” will be offered as well as raffle prizes.
