Rural Angola couple arrested for burglary. Third suspect Kasey Giffin still being sought.
On 03/04/2016 just after 8:00 pm, a rural Angola couple was taken into custody by Steuben County Sheriff’s deputies. 27 year old Britnee N. Bruner and 25 year old Nicholas W. Bruner were located and arrested on CR 425 W near US 20 in Steuben County’s rural Pleasant Township. Mr. & Mrs. Bruner were wanted out of Steuben County on charges of burglary and theft. On 03/01/2016 and 03/04/2016, arrest warrants were issued for the Bruners by the Steuben County Circuit Court following a nearly 2 month investigation by Sheriff’s detectives into 2 separate complaints of burglary that occurred in the 100 and 300 block of north CR 425 W. The warrants charge Mr. Bruner with one count of level 4 felony burglary and one count of class A misdemeanor theft. Mrs. Bruner was charged with one count of level 5 felony burglary and one count of class A misdemeanor theft. Mrs. Bruner also had an additional arrest warrant for failure to appear on an unrelated matter. The Bruners were booked into the Steuben County Jail without incident. Mr. Burner remains held in lieu of a $13,000.00 bond and Mrs. Bruner remains held without bond pending an initial court appearance. The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking a third suspect in connection with the burglary investigations. An arrest warrant has been issued for 27 year old Kasey N. Giffin of Angola, IN charging him with one count of level 4 felony burglary and one count of class A misdemeanor theft. Giffin is described as a white male standing 5’10” tall and weighing approximately 140 lbs. He has brown eyes, brown hair, and was last known to have a full beard. Anyone with information on Giffin’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office or Steuben County Crime Stoppers. There Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Angola City Police and the Huntington City Police.
