Beware! Reports of phone scam posing as IRS and threatening arrest by Sumpter Police for back taxes.
The Sumpter Township Police Department has several reports of a phone scam claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service.
Per reports, calls are being received where the caller claims to be from the IRS. The caller goes on to say that the person owes back taxes and if full payment is not made immediately by credit card over the phone the Sumpter Township Police Department will come to arrest them.
