Pimping and Robbery Conviction Against Gang Member


Los Angeles: Human Trafficking Task Force investigation results in a 24-year old gang member being convicted of pimping and robbery with a sentence of 6 years in state prison.

 

On March 7, 2016 Kendall Tolbert, a Compton resident, plead guilty to pimping charges before a California Superior Court.  In documents previously filed against Tolbert, he was accused of having used an adult victim and possibly minors as prostitutes for his own financial gain. He preyed on vulnerable victims and convinced them to become prostitutes. If the victim’s did not perform as he required, Tolbert would verbally and physically abuse them.  Tolbert admitted to physically abusing one victim and robbing her of her money and personal belongings.

Tolbert is one of 16 defendants that have been convicted for human trafficking related offenses by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations South Bureau Human Trafficking Task Force since the task force was established. The primary goal of this task force is to rescue victims and put predators in jail, to this end, if anyone believes they have been a victim of Tolbert, please contact the Human Trafficking Task Force.
