The Wisconsin Dells PD received Grant Funding for impaired driving and seat-belt enforcement.
The Portage Police Department is part of this traffic safety task force in Columbia County. Other members of the task force include Wisconsin Dells PD, Columbia County Sheriff’s Dept., Lodi PD, and Fall River PD.
Grants were approved for the task force to concentrate on OWI and Seat-Belt enforcement. The grant runs from now until September. Officers from these departments will be deployed to focus on impaired driving and seat belt violators.
The goal of the task force is to reduce OWI and seat-belt violations by performing strict enforcement. During the next several months the task force will be deploying grant shifts during the same days and hours to create saturation enforcement throughout Columbia County.
