The Sausalito Police Department would like to advise their community of a series of storms that is continuing to move through Central and Northern California.

• A strong storm system is expected for Friday, March 11th between 8:00 AM through noon.

• A weaker weather system will move through the North Bay during the afternoon of Saturday, March 12th. This storm system is expected to last until Sunday morning with more rain and breezy south winds.

• Another storm in the series is expected during the afternoon/evening of Sunday, March 13th. This storm system may last until the Monday morning.

The Sausalito Police Department would also like to share the following safety information from PG&E:

Electric Outage Center:
Report an outage and check on a known outage: Select a location on the map or search by city. Once outage details appear, you will be able to sign up to receive outage updates.

Get alerts for future outages: First, log in to your PG&E account at http://www.pge.com/en/myhome/outages/alerts/index.page?WT.mc_id=Vanity_outagealerts. Under Alerts, go to Outages. Then select edit. You can choose to be notified by text, email or phone.

What to Do If You See a Downed Power Line:
Never go near a damaged power line that has fallen to the ground or is dangling in the air. Always assumed downed electric lines are energized and extremely dangerous. Stay away, keep others away and immediately call 911 and PG&E at 1-800-743-5002.

Stay away from trees, pools of water and other objects that may be in contact with power lines and call 911 then PG&E at 1-800-743-5002.

Outage Tip: Unplug or turn off all electrical appliances to avoid overloading circuits when power is restored.

If you must use candles, keep them away from drapes, lampshades and small children. Do not leave candles unattended.
