Deputies arrest male for Possession of Narcotics for Sale during a Probation Compliance check

INCIDENT: Male Subject Arrested for Possession of Narcotics for Sale
LOCATION: 900 Block N. Sequoia Dr., Big Bear City
SUSPECT: Scott David Payne, 39-year-old, resident of Big Bear Lake
SUMMARY:
On Friday, March 11, 2016, shortly before 11:30 a.m. deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station conducted a probation compliance check at a residence in the 900 Block of North Sequoia Drive in Big Bear City. While at the location, deputies found a large quantity of methamphetamine and packaging consistent with drug sales in the possession of Scott Payne, who was visiting the probationer.
Payne was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Big Bear Jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for sale. Scott Payne remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail, with an arraignment hearing scheduled for March 15 in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
