On March 9, 2016, Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Engine #18, conducted “School Emergency and Active Shooting” training at Lennox Academy Charter High School. The training took place at 11036 Hawthorne Boulevard, Lennox, California 90304.

Emergency first responders dealt with a training scenario where an active shooter had shot several people at the school and was still in the process of shooting. Sheriff’s Department personnel entered the school and stopped the active shooter. The Los Angeles County Fire Department then entered the school and provided aide to the injured victims. School personnel also participated in the training.

The purpose of this training was to ensure first responders were able to immediately stop the threat and provide aide to the injured. The training was a huge success. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department works well with the Los Angeles County Fire Department to keep schools and the community safe.
