Update on Armed Robbery
At approximately 9:00 AM today 2 male subjects entered Parks Drug store in Albion and held them up at gunpoint. The suspects demanded prescription drugs from the employees. After getting multiple prescription drugs the suspects fled the store to a waiting vehicle with a third suspect who was driving. The vehicle fled north bound on Clinton St. where 3 ADPS officers at the fire station saw it pass just as they were notified of the robbery. All three officers engaged in a pursuit of the vehicle up N Eaton St. to west bound I-94. Once on I-94 speeds reached in excess of 100 mph as the vehicle fled toward Battle Creek. At some point during the chase one of the rear tires on the suspects car blew, but they continued fleeing at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Department, Marshall Police Department, Emmett Twp Public Safety Department, Battle Creek Police Department and Michigan State Police all assisted in the pursuit of the vehicle. The vehicle exited south on M-66 in Battle Creek where the Michigan State Police performed a PIT maneuver on the fleeing vehicle bringing the chase to an end between I-94 and Beckley Rd. Two male suspects and one female suspect were taken into custody and have been lodged at the Calhoun County Jail. ADPS would like to thank all the agency involved in bringing this incident to a safe ending. There have been no serious injuries reported at this time. Parks Drug store is back open at this time.
