Marshall County – Today at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Redwood Road, south of 9th Road, in which a Plymouth, IN man died.
The preliminary crash investigation by Indiana State Police Senior Trooper Dave Caswell revealed that Robert Gross, 65, Plymouth, IN was driving a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis southbound on Redwood Road, south of 9th Road. For an undetermined reason, the Mercury traveled off the west side of the road and struck a large tree. Gross had to be extricated from the Mercury by firefighters from the Plymouth Fire Department.
Gross died from injuries sustained in the crash.
This is an ongoing investigation, but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to this crash.
Senior Trooper Caswell was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, the Marshall County Coroner’s Office, and Plymouth EMS.
