Perry County Homicide Update
Perry County – This afternoon at approximately 3:53 p.m., a Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the murder suspect’s vehicle on S.R. 144 north of Patesville, KY. The vehicle was stopped on S.R. 144 west of Goering Road. Stacy Matheny, 47, was taken into custody without incident. A handgun was recovered from inside the vehicle. Matheny was arrested and taken to the Hancock County Jail where he is currently being held on charges from Kentucky and Indiana.
Stacy Matheny’s father, Earl Matheny, was driving the vehicle when stopped by deputies. Earl Matheny was not arrested. The investigation is continuing.

1. Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Arrested by Hancock County, KY)
2. Murder (Perry County, IN)
