Vandalism incidents reported in Seymour

Over the weekend four incidents of vandalism to parked cars were reported to the Seymour Police Department. The incidents occurred during the overnight hours, and the damage included scratches to paint and broken windows. Most of the incidents occurred in the neighborhoods surrounding the downtown area.

If you need to park your vehicle outside overnight, make sure that it is in a well lit area (such as under a street light or illuminated by a porch light). We also recommend installing motion sensor lights on the exterior of homes. Curfew hours are 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The curfew ordinance will be enforced and juveniles out after hours may be fined. We encourage anyone who observes suspicious activity or groups of juveniles out after curfew to contact our department at 920-833-2366. This is a good reminder to lock the doors to your homes, garages and cars. Warmer weather usually also brings with it a rise in property theft.

Thank you for your help in advance, and please spread the word so we can put a stop to this before any more vehicles are vandalized.
