Reminder that the statewide tornado drill takes place at 6:30PM today unless thunderstorms are in the area.
A reminder to have your emergency supply kit ready to go as we move into severe storm season. Find a list of emergency kit items at www.ready.gov and be sure to have a kit at home, at work and in your vehicles.
If storms are present in Kansas this evening, the tornado drill will be postponed until Thursday evening at 6:30 PM.
We encourage you to have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings. We do have a few NOAA All Hazards Weather Radios left in the CY County Emergency Management office for Clay County residents only. $8.76. Call before you come by to make sure someone is here! 632-5802

We will send a Nixle message when a Severe Thunderstorm WATCH or Tornado WATCH is issued by the National Weather Service office. We can NOT guarantee that we will be able to send notice of WARNINGS. Be sure to have other ways to receive warnings. Do not rely on outdoor sirens if you will be indoors.
