New Castle Couple Arrested for Meth
New Castle – A New Castle couple was arrested around 6 p.m. last evening after the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad served a search warrant on their home at 616 N. 12th St. in New Castle. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing drug investigation by the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad.
Arrested was Jason Melton, age 49, and Erica Berry, age 25. Both stand charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, all three being Level 6 Felony charges. The couple was lodged in the Henry County Jail.
The Meth Suppression Squad was assisted in their investigation by Pendleton District Troopers, New Castle Police Department, Division of Child Services and Henry County Prosecutor Joe Bergacs.
