Information from the Livermore Police Department
In the afternoon of 03-17-16, several school administrators at Livermore High School received a communication that threatened the safety of students and staff at Livermore High School. This message was similar in content to the threat communicated to Granada High School earlier in the day. The Livermore Police Department was notified. Livermore PD personnel arrived on campus and the school implemented its “shelter in place” protocol. LPD personnel conducted a thorough search of the school, including the use of a helicopter from the East Bay Regional Parks Police Department (EBRPPD). Once the search of the school was completed, the “shelter in place” was lifted and the school resumed normal activities. LPD will have additional police staff on site at the school. There is no reason to believe that there is an imminent threat to the school, students, or staff. LPD was impressed with the way that school staff handled the incident, and how well the students did during the “shelter in place.” LPD wishes to thank the EBRPPD for their assistance.
