Weather Advisory in effect for State of New Hampshire area thru Monday afternoon. Minimal effect for Monadnock region

SCATTERED SHOWERS POSSIBLE, MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING. SHOWERS COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS. A COASTAL STORM WILL BE POSSIBLE LATER SUNDAY AND MONDAY WITH WET SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS EXPECTED.

A Weather Advisory is issued if after review of pertinent weather information it is determined that escalating emergency conditions may be possible.

SYNOPSIS:

Scattered rain showers will be possible across most of the region today. However, snow showers will be possible in parts of New Hampshire, mainly in Northern. Some showers could produce small hail. Breezy winds are expected today and this evening. Isolated showers could produce locally gusty winds around 30-40 mph. Dry conditions will return this evening and tonight. Dry and non-hazard conditions are expected Saturday through Sunday morning. A winter storms looks to impact the region later Sunday into Monday. Snow consistency will be wet. Hazard snow will be possible. Hazard gusts will also be possible.

DETAILED FORECAST:
Scattered rain and snow showers are expected across the region. Snow showers will focus over Northern. Snowfall: Little to none for most; trace-1.00" in the higher terrain. Rainfall: 0.10" or less. Showery weather will mainly occur between 03/18 0600-1800, but a few flurries could linger in parts of northern until 03/19 0000. Winds: West at 8-18 mph, gusting 20-30 mph, isolated peak gusts to 35 mph possible. However, isolated showers could produce localized gusts as high as 30-40 mph. Breezy but non-hazard conditions will occur tonight.

DAYS 2-3 OUTLOOK Dry and non-hazard conditions are expected Saturday through Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon into Monday afternoon, an area of low pressure is expected to strengthen rapidly as it moves northeast along the East Coast. Wet snow is expected for NH. Currently the heaviest area of snow looks to focus over Central, Southern, and Eastern. Snowfall around 3-6" will be possible. Gusty winds will develop Sunday night along the coast with gusts around 30-35 mph expected and peak gusts around 40 mph possible. Winds will increase across NH on Monday with gusts around 30-40 mph possible during the day. Winds will gradually weaken during the evening and night. Dry and non-hazard conditions are expected Monday night. Confidence in snowfall amounts and winds is medium at this time, and accumulation could vary.
