On March 19, 2016 at approximately 1650 hours, members of the Burlington Police Department were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a Bicyclist. The accident occurred in the area of 246 Riverside Ave., in the travel lanes. Riverside Ave was shut down temporarily for first aid needs and accident reconstruction.
The bicyclist was identified as Richard Pomykala of Burlington, VT. Pomykala was injured in the accident and was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center ED for evaluation. Pomykala was listed in stable condition.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Ilene Horl-Lemieux of Burlington, VT. Horl-Lemieux was not injured and was released from the scene following the preliminary investigation.
This accident is currently under investigation to determine the cause.
