Indianapolis, IN- Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter announced the promotion of Trooper Brock McCooe to the rank of Corporal to serve as the District Duty Officer at the Indianapolis Post.
Corporal McCooe comes to us from Jacksonville Florida and is a 1996 graduate of New Albany High School. He went on to serve our country in the United States Army. McCooe later attended the University of Louisville where he studied psychology. He chosen to attend the 67th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in January of 2007, which was the largest recruit class in Indiana State Police history. Upon graduating from the academy he was assigned to the Sellersburg Post where he patrolled Clark and Floyd Counties. In 2014, McCooe transferred to the Indianapolis Post and was assigned to night shift in Hancock County.
During his career McCooe has been a Field Training Officer (FTO), Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Instructor, and a member of the Meth Suppression Team. Brock currently resides in Hancock County with his wife and son.
Corporal McCooe's new assignment as the District Duty Officer at Indianapolis will involve supervision of day to day district operations, assisting dispatchers in emergency situations, answering telephone inquiries and delegating assignments. He will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing district crash reports and will assist district command personnel with administrative duties.
