Winter Storm Wednesday into Thursday for parts of northern Lower Michigan
Low pressure over the Central Plains Wednesday will move across the lower Great Lakes region Thursday. Snow will increase in coverage and intensity across northern Lower Michigan Wednesday afternoon and especially Wednesday night. A substantial accumulation of heavy wet snow is possible.
• 6 or more inches of heavy wet snow is possible by midday Thursday.
• At this time, it appears the heaviest snow will fall south of the M-32 corridor.
• Mixed precipitation falling in the form of snow, freezing rain, and rain may also occur along the M-55 corridor.
• Impacts from this storm will likely include local power outages, snow covered and/or slippery roads, and downed tree limbs.
• There is still considerable uncertainty regarding the evolution of this storm, most notably regarding the northward extent of the heavy snow and the mixed precipitation.
