- Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Benton female arrested on Drug Charges.

Amie M. Koch (36) has been charged with the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance (x6).

Sheriff Walter states that on Friday, March 18, 2016 deputies responded to an address on County Road 405 reference child custody. While speaking with both parties involved, deputies were advised of narcotics and a large amount of medication being kept in Koch’s room.

Koch signed a permission to search form and deputies searched Koch’s bedroom where they located (1) Clonazepam, (5) Alprazolam, (2) Hydrocodone (500mg), (41) Hydrocodone (325mg), (4) Oxycodone, and (59) Tramadol-Hydrochloride pills - all of which are controlled substances. Deputies also located multiple non-controlled prescriptions pills. All of the pills located had multiple names of patients from the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Koch admitted to taking the pills “to throw them away.” Koch, at the time, was an employee of the Lutheran Home.

Koch was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail pending charges. Bond was set by the court at $5,000 cash or surety.
