MEDIA RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
FAIRPORT, NY
March 23, 2016
The Fairport Police Department reports the arrest of Phillip J. Sanfillipo, 28 years of age, of 30 Whitney Ridge Road, Apartment #7, Perinton, New York for Burglary in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and Petit Larceny in connection with the recent break-in at Macs Philly Steak Restaurant in the Village of Fairport this past weekend. Sanfillipo is on parole for a prior charge of Burglary in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree.
With respect to his parole status, this is yet another example of a person on parole who continues to be engaged in criminal activity. As noted in the recent past, the Monroe County Association of Chiefs of Police is advocating for legislation that allows for charging a parolee with increased penalties when violating the terms of their parole and committing a crime while on parole.
Sanfillipo was arraigned this evening in East Rochester Village Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail. No bail was set due to Sanfillipo’s predicate felon status.
