Car Thief Crashes Stolen Vehicle

On Sunday, March 27th 2016, at about 2231 hours, Anderson Police were dispatched to the Manzanita Hills Apartment Complex located in the 1500 block of Spruce Street in Anderson for a report of a narcotics violations at the location. Upon arrival, an Anderson Police Officer spotted a stolen, 2010, Volvo, XC6 utility vehicle leaving the location.

Upon detecting police presence, the Volvo sped away but not before the Officer got a look at the driver as the stolen vehicle and police vehicle passed each other in the parking-lot. The driver of the stolen vehicle failed to yield to the police and continued to evade capture using high speeds and willful disregard for the public. The driver fled at high speeds through a residential neighborhood almost causing a collision at the intersection of Spruce Street and Pinion Avenue and eventually crashed into a parked car in the 1300 block of Jeffries Avenue in Anderson California.

After the crash, the driver fled on foot and was not captured. The Anderson Police are asking for any information regarding the identity of the driver of the stolen vehicle.
