John Modie
NELSONVILLE, Ohio - Authorities are on the hunt for a convicted killer who was reported missing late Sunday night from a Nelsonville prison.
John Modie, 58, was absent from the Southeastern Correctional Complex during inmate counts at 11:00 p.m.
Modie is currently serving 15 years to life in prison for murder, robbery and escape in 2003. His first parole hearing is set for October 2020.
The charges are out of Cuyahoga County in northeast Ohio.
Modie is described as a white male, 6’4”, with grey hair and brown eyes.
Meantime, Hocking College’s main campus in Nelsonville is closed until noon on Monday as police search for the escaped inmate.
