On March 28, 2016 at approximately 1915 hours, Burlington Police Officers observed a vehicle operating in a careless and reckless manor in the area of Cedar St and Rose St. The vehicle ran through several stop signs at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to catch up with the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop.
The vehicle, which was being operated by the suspect George Davis, refused to yield to officers who had activated their blue lights and sirens. Davis continued to operate in a dangerous and reckless manor throughout several streets in the “Old North End.” Officers initiated a pursuit, which was terminated a short time later. Officers followed the suspect at a distance without their lights or sirens on.
Davis ultimately crashed his vehicle in Ethan Allen Park, located at the intersection of North Ave and Ethan Allen Parkway. Officers arrived at that location moments afterwards and Davis was observed fleeing from the suspect vehicle. Officers subsequently took Davis into custody after a foot pursuit through the park.
Davis has three prior convictions for DUI and was subsequently charged with DUI#4 as a result of this incident. Davis was also charge with the following additional charges:
