Theft prevention tips from Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station
It takes approximately 20 seconds for someone to break into a car, steal valuables, and get away without being seen or caught. If the targeted car is unlocked, it can take even less time!
Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station would like to remind residents of the following safety tips, to deter thieves from targeting your vehicles:
- Lock all doors and close all windows every time you leave your vehicle
- Do not leave any valuables inside your vehicle (this includes garage door openers, vehicle and house keys, and personal identifying information)
- Keep purses, handbags, and backpacks out of plain view
- Park in well-lit areas or in your garage, if possible
- Never leave your vehicle while it is still running
- Install an audible alarm system
- Use a visible anti-theft device
Please do not hesitate to contact Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station with any questions or concerns regarding theft prevention.
