Emergency Management officials have been in contact with American Electric Power as well as Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross Officials to coordinate community needs. Currently 3498 AEP customers are without power.

According to AEP, power restoration of 100% by midnight (11:59pm) Monday night.

According to the Red Cross Disaster Program Manager "The best (number to call) is our 800 number: 888-684-1441. It has a lot of redundancy in place and is answered 24/7". Should persons with functional needs require assistance they are encouraged to contact the Red Cross at the 800 number. Currently there are no shelters open and areas without power are scattered. We are encouraged by weather reports of warmer temperatures today.

It is impossible to accurately predict restorations of specific circuits serving particular residences because of the many challenges that restoration workers face. Indiana Michigan Power provides updates approximately every four hours to the local news media so that they can report the status of the overall restoration effort.

Indiana Michigan Power works hard to keep the public updated on the overall progress of restoration efforts by staying in close contact with local news media outlets during major power outages.
