Police Arrest Interrupted Residential Burglary Suspect

On April 2, 2016 at 6:25 p.m., Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department responded to a call of a residential burglary in progress on Lark Avenue. The homeowner returned home and encountered a female suspect inside the residence. The female suspect fled on foot while the homeowner called 911. Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Officers arrived at 6:28 p.m. and immediately began searching for the suspect. At 6:30 p.m., suspect Samantha Vetter, 30 years old, out of Los Gatos, was located by K9 Officer John Alldredge and partner K9 Berko, as she emerged from shrubbery along Lark Ave. and Highway 17. Vetter was positively identified by witnesses as being responsible for the interrupted burglary. Officers determined that Vetter had gained access to the home by using a ladder to breach an upstairs window.

Samantha Vetter was arrested and charged with Burglary (PC 459), Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance (HS 11550), and an outstanding warrant. Vetter was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. Detectives will be conducting additional investigation in an attempt to determine if Vetter is related to any other ongoing investigations.
