*Composite Sketch* #LASD East LA Det Seek Public’s Help in Locating Assault Susp, Unincorp Los Angeles @EastLALASD

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department East Los Angeles Station detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the Hispanic male adult suspect depicted in the attached composite sketch who is wanting for assaulting two victims with a hammer.

The assaults happened on two separate occasions.  The first assault occurred on Friday, March 25, 2016 in the 1400 block of South Bonnie Beach Place, unincorporated Los Angeles.  The suspect walked up to the elderly male and, without any warning or provocation, struck him with a hammer type weapon. When the victim fell to the ground, the suspect kicked the victim.  The suspect then fled southbound on Bonnie Beach Place and was out of view. 

The second assault took place on the same date hours later, in the 4400 block of Triggs Street, unincorporated Los Angeles.  In this incident, the victim was standing in front of a residence when, without warning or provocation, the suspect attacked a female adult.  The suspect struck the victim with a hammer-like weapon several times about the head.  The woman immediately fell to the ground and fell unconscious.  The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. 

The suspect, described as a Hispanic male with a goatee between 40 and 50 years of age, standing approximately six feet tall and weighing between 200 and 240 pounds, is believed to have fled in a 1990’s dark colored Toyota Tacoma, extended cab.  He wore a hat, sunglasses, a blue wind breaker, brown cargo shorts and white shoes.

Both victims in these incidents were transported to local hospitals and are listed in serious condition.

East Los Angeles Station Detectives have been actively working on solving two Assault with Deadly Weapon investigations. The cases involve a single suspect striking two victims on two separate occasions without warning with a hammer-type weapon.

 The first assault occurred on Friday, March 25, 2016 in the 1400 block of South Bonnie Beach Place, unincorporated Los Angeles.  The suspect walked up to the elderly male and, without any warning or provocation, struck him with a hammer type weapon. When the victim fell to the ground the suspect kicked the victim.  The suspect then fled southbound Bonnie Beach Place and out of view.  The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 40 to 45 years old, between 5’10 and 6’00 tall, heavy set, wearing a straw hat and blue wind breaker-type jacket.

 The second assault took place on the same date few hours later, in the 4400 block of Triggs Street, unincorporated Los Angeles.  In this incident, the victim was standing in front of a residence when without warning or provocation the suspect attacked a female adult.  The suspect struck the victim with a hammer-like weapon several times about the head.  The woman immediately fell to the ground and fell unconscious.  The suspect fled in an unknown direction.  Witnesses in this incident describe the suspect as a male in his mid-forties, approximately 240 pounds, 6’00 tall, wearing a black jacket and black pants.

 Both victims in these incidents were transported to local hospitals and are listed in serious condition.    

The investigations are on-going and there is no additional information at this time.
