A very high to possibly extreme fire danger exists for eastern Kansas and portions of western to central Missouri today as low relative humidity values combine with gusty northwesterly winds. Therefore, it is encouraged to avoid outdoor burning, to properly extinguish cigarette butts, and use caution with any open flames, such as when grilling or barbecuing. Additionally, with the windy conditions anticipated, be sure to secure lightweight objects and drive safely
