Carthage Man Arrested On Felony Charges

Rush County – A Carthage man was arrested shortly after 12:30 a.m. this morning as part of an ongoing investigation by the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Team. Earl Nicholson Jr., age 39, was arrested after a search warrant was served on his home at 208 Market St. in Carthage. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation in the manufacture of Methamphetamine.

Nicholson stands charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Level 5 Felony; Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony; Possession of the Precursors used to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony; Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, both Level 6 Felony charges.

Nicholson was lodged in the Rush County Jail. Troopers were assisted in their investigation by the Rushville Police Department and the Rush County Sheriff’s Department.
