On Sunday, 4-10-16 at approximately 02:30 am Anderson Police Officer’s arrested Michael EBERT (28 years, of Anderson) at a residence in the 1500 block of School St in Anderson. EBERT was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery, Assault likely to cause great bodily injury and kidnapping related to two incidents on 3-29-16 and 3-30-16 in which his 30 year old girlfriend reported being assaulted by him (APD Case 16-4671). As a result of the assaults his girlfriend suffered significant facial swelling and lacerations. Since then APD had checked the residence looking for EBERT but had not located him.

Sunday morning 4-10-16, APD responded to the residence on an unrelated medical assist call regarding another family member. While at the residence APD officers located EBERT and the same girlfriend sleeping inside a disabled pick-up in the back yard. When confronted by the officers, EBERT refused to open a vehicle door or exit the vehicle. Officers broke a side window and took EBERT into custody. EBERT is on Shasta County Probation for theft and on CDC Parole for terrorist threats. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail on the above charges as well as a Parole hold for Parole violations.
