Redding Man Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

On Monday, April 11th 2016, at about 0209 hours, Anderson Police spotted a stolen GMC Sierra pick-up truck driving westbound on Balls Ferry Road in Anderson. The driver, 49 year old, Eric Lee Cooley of Redding, was contacted as the driver of the vehicle during a felony enforcement stop that occurred on the southbound I-5 on ramp just south of Balls Ferry Road.

At the time of the stop, Anderson Police K-9 Chance and his handler quickly arrived on scene and Cooley’s arrest was completed without incident. Cooley was booked into the Shasta County Jail on one felonious count of possessing a stolen vehicle pursuant to section 496d(a) of the California Penal Code. Additional charges will be filed with the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.
