Perry County Man Jailed after Domestic Disturbance Turned into Barricaded Situation
Perry County: A Monday evening domestic disturbance at a northern Perry County residence turned into a barricaded situation before ending peacefully.
Around 8:20 P.M. local time, the Perry County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a physical domestic disturbance at 27545 Doolittle Mills Road, English. The residence was located just south of the Perry/Crawford County line. Deputies were informed that the resident, 34 year old Peter M. Jacobs, had struck his wife and fired a round from a rifle into the ceiling, and had confined his wife and 3-year old child in the residence.
Officers from the Perry County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police arrived to find that Jacobs had released his wife and child, and had barricaded himself in the residence with numerous firearms. Indiana State Police SWAT and Hostage Negotiator team members arrived on scene, and at 12:40 A.M., talked Jacobs into peacefully coming out of his residence to the street, where he was placed into custody.
Jacobs was transported to and lodged in the Perry County Jail on charges filed by the Perry County Sheriff’s Department.
