On April 12, 2016 at approximately 1:00 AM, Covina Police Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 100 block of E. Edna Place. The reporting party indicated the occupants of a dark colored sedan were tampering with parked cars in the area. Responding officers located a vehicle matching the description of the suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of E. Edna Place and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. While contacting the occupants, the officers determined that vehicle carried two adults and three juveniles. The four suspects were transported to the Covina Police Department where they were booked on the listed charge. The two juveniles were later cited out and released into the custody of their parents. The two adults, Baltazar Vergara (20 year old resident of Covina) and Ashley Chapa (18 year old resident of La Puente) are being housed at the Covina Police Department on $20,000 bail pending their arraignment at Citrus Superior Court on April 14, 2016.
