Trooper Ben Rector is Lafayette Trooper of the Year

Trooper Ben Rector, a five year veteran of the Indiana State Police, received the Trooper of the District Award for the Lafayette Post at an award ceremony held in Indianapolis today. Rector was presented the award for the Trooper who has achieved outstanding efforts in the areas of traffic and criminal enforcement, case and crash investigations, public information programs, community service and who has exemplified the professionalism and integrity expected of an Indiana State Trooper. Rector is a Field Training Officer, TIP Squad member, drug interdiction officer and was previously a K-9 officer. Trooper Rector works well with his community, local and county police and his fellow troopers.

“Trooper Ben Rector is one officer who helps make the ISP one of the finest state police departments in the country!” states Lt. Tom McKee, commander of the Lafayette Post. “It is with great pride that I have the privilege and honor to have Trooper Ben Rector under my command!”

Trooper Rector and his family live in Tippecanoe County.
