Sierra Pacific Foundation Helps Take a Bite Out of Crime
The Anderson Police Department K9 Unit recently added K9 “Iro”, a 18 month old, black Czech Republic German Shepard to the force. Funds for this canine and the other police service dogs come from gracious donations within the community. Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) seeks to contribute to local community organizations for the betterment of our north state way of life. SPI, via the Sierra Pacific Foundation, recently presented the Anderson Police Department with a $3,000 check to assist with purchase of “Iro”. According to Chief Michael Johnson, “The receipt of these funds are a much needed and timely asset to the program. Canines have proved to be a valuable tool in effective community service and we rely on such contributions to keep the program viable.”
The City of Anderson and the Anderson Police Department wish to extend their sincere thanks to the Sierra Pacific Foundation for helping support the K9 Unit and investing in the safety of Shasta County citizens.
