LASD, Lawndale Youth Day Parade and Bike Ride, Saturday, April 23, 2016, City of Lawndale
This Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., the City of Lawndale and Metro is hosting its first ever open street bike ride. The Lawndale Community Bike Ride is an event where people can come out and ride their bicycles on the closed parade route.
Bicyclists should report to Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Prairie Avenue, Lawndale at 8:00 a.m. The ride will end at 10:00 a.m.
At 10:00 a.m. the streets will be cleared of bicyclists and at 10:30 a.m. the Lawndale Youth Day Parade will begin. The parade is a tradition in Lawndale for several decades. Find a nice cozy spot along the route and enjoy the marching bands, pirates, community groups and vintage cars. Come out and enjoy the day.
The parade and bicycle route will be westbound on Manhattan Beach Boulevard to northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard to eastbound on Marine Avenue to southbound on Prairie Avenue and will end at Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
