Big Bear Lake - Vehicle check leads to the arrest of Michael Taylor, convicted felon in possession of a firearm

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m., deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff's Station Multi Enforcement Team conducted a vehicle check in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot in the 42000 Block of Big Bear Boulevard in Big Bear Lake. Deputies made contact with Michael Taylor who was identified as being on Post Community Supervised Release Probation (AB 109) and having a active felony arrest warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of Taylor’s vehicle, during the search a loaded sawed off shotgun and drug paraphernalia were recovered.
Suspect Michael Taylor, who is not a resident of the Big Bear area was taken into custody without incident. Taylor was booked on felony charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, and carrying a loaded firearm in public with a felony conviction. Taylor remains in custody in lieu of 150,000 bail. An arraignment hearing in this matter is set for April 21, 2016 at the San Bernardino Superior Court.
