Join us tonight at 7pm for the 7th Annual Grapevine Police vs Grapevine Fire Softball Challenge at Oak Grove Park Ball Field Complex, 2700 Dove Loop. The Watchmen (Grapevine Police) will battle the Smoke Eaters (Grapevine Fire) in this fundraising softball game. The winning team will take home the trophy and bragging rights until next year’s show-down. Proceeds from this gritty but family-friendly rivalry will benefit the Grapevine Shield Foundation. Admission is free but we invite everyone to take part in the silent auction. Raffle items will also be given away throughout the game. The Grapevine Shield Foundation provides immediate financial support to any Grapevine Police Officer or Fire Fighter when injured or killed in the line of duty. The Grapevine Shield Foundation also awards scholarships each year to the children of police and fire department employees. This year, four $2,000.00 scholarships will be awarded within the next two weeks. “This is a difficult time to be a first responder in our country, so come out and show your support by cheering loudly for both teams.
