Livermore Wine Country Downtown Street Festival
LIVERMORE WINE COUNTRY DOWNTOWN STREET FESTIVAL 2016
The Livermore Police Department wants to remind the community of an expected visitor surge, as well as possible traffic delays, during the weekend of Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st for the 25th annual Livermore Wine Country Downtown Street Festival. The festival runs 10am – 6pm on April 30th and 10am – 5pm on May 1st. Over 150,000 visitors are expected to attend this free event over the two day weekend. In the past, visitors have not only enjoyed the event, but have remained in town for evening dining as well as other nightlife activities.
The festival will run along First Street, heading west from Maple Street to South O Street. The festival will also run along Second Street heading west from South Livermore Avenue to South M Street. The cross streets between First Street and Second Street to include South Livermore Avenue, South J Street, South K Street, South L Street and South M Street will be closed between First Street and Second Street. McLeod Street between First Street and Second Street will also be closed and incorporated into the festival.
Please keep in mind that street closures for the festival will begin at 2am, in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 30th. All of the streets within the festival area will be posted “No Parking” and any vehicles parked on those roadways may be subject to being towed. Those planning to enjoy the downtown area on Friday, April 29th should plan their downtown parking and transportation accordingly.
The Livermore Police Department asks that you share this information with anyone planning to enjoy the downtown festivities on Saturday, April 30th – Sunday, May 1st or who may be impacted by the traffic delays due to the street closures.
The Livermore Police Department reminds anyone who plans to consume alcohol while at the festival to pre-plan a safe and sober ride home. LPD will have officers working the festival each day to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all those who attend. LPD will also have officers in the area of the festival watching for intoxicated drivers.
