Water Main Break : City of Kenton
CITY OF KENTON WATER MAIN BREAK
KENTON, Ohio. – April 28, 2016 -
The Kenton-Hardin Health Department has been made aware of a water main break in the City of Kenton.
At this time, the Kenton-Hardin Health Department is requiring that all restaurants in the City of Kenton to close until further notice from the Health Department. Thereafter, a boil advisory will be in place.
We are advising all citizens of the Kenton to use bottled/gallon water to use for sanitation and cooking purposes in the home until further notice.
At this time, stores such as will be opened:
• Grocery stores
• All pharmacies
• Gas stations (PROHIBITED: serving hot food and fountain pop.
PERMITTED: prepackaged food and prepackaged drinks).
Once the water is returned, the Kenton-Hardin Health Department is requiring all restaurants and residents in Kenton municipal water district to adhere to boil advisory protocols, advising all to use bottled/gallon water to use for sanitation and cooking purposes, until further notice.
At this time:
• PROHIBITED:
o Ice Machines (use store bought ice)
o Fountain Pop machines
o Coffee, tea, etc.
o Cooking with municipal water
• PERMITTED:
o prepackaged food and prepackaged drinks
o boiling municipal water for hand washing utensils
o bathing and restrooms
Once Water is Restored: Boil advisory protocols will in place by the City of Kenton for consumption, cooking and sanitation until further notice.
The Kenton-Hardin Health Department continues to work with the City of Kenton agencies at this time.
