FLASH FLOOD WATCH
The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch until 10 PM tonight for Lawrence County.
The area can expect scattered storms with localized downpours that could result in flooding.
Showers and thunderstorms will be developing this afternoon and this evening. Some of these storms could produce localized downpours of 1 to 2 inches in a short period of time. These downpours coupled with the already wet ground from previous rains, could cause localized flooding of small streams and creeks, low lying areas and poor drainage areas.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Instructions:
You should monitor later forecast and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Stay weather alert and remember TURN AROUND DON'T DROWN!
